Everything about this article would lead me to believe that this shooting wasn’t justified. First of all, “Officer Michael Sweeney erroneously believed he had been shot…” ?!?!? He thought he got shot, and then he murders this civilian, but it turns out he hadn’t been shot?! How is that justified?!

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – A Connecticut prosecutor has determined that a Monroe police officer used appropriate force in shooting an unarmed man to death during a drug raid at a home in Easton last year.
In a written decision released Tuesday, Fairfield State’s Attorney Jonathan Benedict says Officer Michael Sweeney erroneously believed he had been shot when he opened fire on 33-year-old Gonzalo Guzman. Guzman was shot six times during a struggle with Sweeney on May 18, 2008.
Guzman was visiting the home of Ronald Terebesi when police regional emergency response team burst inside, tossing flash grenades. According to the report, there was a history of drug-related incidents at the home, and police were acting on a tip from a woman who reported drug activity there.
